About

Independent journalist and filmmaker focusing on human rights, social justice, and culture. Works from pitch to publication as a videographer, producer, writer, editor, and translator.

I am a journalist and filmmaker who likes to focus on where politics and humanity collide. Whether it be the lasting residue of an antiquated law or the current of a burgeoning social movement, I strive to document the individuals at the center of every story, those who are often missing from the headlines. I currently work as a Senior Producer on the field documentary team at AJ+. I have reported on a wide variety of topics, such as the collapse of rural EMS services in the Mississippi Delta, the effects of tourism and housing policies in Hawai’i, the politicization of evangelical Christianity in Brazil, and the rise of Indigenous resistance movements in the Amazon rainforest. I manage all aspects of video production — from pitching, field production, and camera operation to scriptwriting and post-production. I speak Spanish and Portuguese fluently and have extensive field experience all across the U.S. and Latin America.
